The bay itself is lovely for a swim but rarely has a rideable wave, so instead of hoping for something at the bottom of the hill we pick you up in Luz and drive you to whichever coast is actually working that morning.

We pick up in Luz. It is on the way out of town for us, so you get in the van in Luz and get dropped back in Luz at the end of the day.
Can I surf in Praia da Luz bay itself?
Occasionally, on a decent south swell, but it is unreliable. That is exactly why we drive: the van goes to where the waves are instead of making you surf whatever is in front of you.
