Private surf lessons in Lagos
A maximum of two surfers per instructor, so every wave you catch gets feedback and nothing is watered down for a group. Same van, same swell check, much more attention.
€120–€150 per person, per day
A private day is the same structure as our group surf day — pickup in Lagos, swell check, drive to the coast that is working — but with one instructor for one or two people. That changes what is possible. In a group of eight the instructor is managing positioning and safety for everyone. With two of you, they can stand next to you in the line-up, call the wave, watch the take-off and tell you exactly what happened before you have paddled back out.
This is the fastest way to fix something specific. If you keep nose-diving, popping up late, or pearling on the drop, an instructor watching every attempt will find the cause in a morning. It is also the right choice if you are nervous, if you want to surf at your own pace, or if you are on holiday with one other person and would rather not share a lesson with strangers.
Booking two people together costs €120 each; a solo private day is €150. Everything else is included: board, wetsuit, snack pack, sports insurance and transport from Lagos. Boards are swapped during the day as you progress, which matters more in a private lesson because you will typically be ready to drop volume sooner than in a group.
What's included
- One instructor for a maximum of two surfers
- Return transport from Lagos in the van
- Board and wetsuit, changed through the day as you improve
- Snack pack
- Sports insurance
Two people booking together pay €120 each. One person on their own pays €150 for the day.

How the day works
1Pickup
Same van, same pickup points in Lagos. Pickup times: [CONFIRM: pickup times].
2A quick conversation
Before we get in the water the instructor asks what you have surfed, what is going wrong and what you want out of the day. This shapes the whole session.
3Beach choice
Private lessons can be pickier about conditions. If a slightly longer drive gets you a cleaner wave for what you are working on, we take it.
4Session one
One skill at a time, with the instructor in the water beside you calling waves and correcting between sets.
5Lunch and a debrief
Snack pack on the sand and a talk through what changed in the morning and what to do after lunch.
6Session two and the drive back
Apply the correction with fresh eyes on it, then boards on the roof and back to Lagos.

Who it's for
- Nervous first-timers who would rather not learn in front of a group
- Surfers stuck at the same level for a few seasons
- Couples or friends who want the instructor to themselves
- Anyone with a specific fault to fix: pop-up timing, take-off angle, duck diving
- Returning surfers getting back in the water after a long break
Where we surf
South coast near Lagos when the swell is small and clean: Meia Praia for long gentle walls, Porto de Mós when a bit more push is needed.
West coast towards Arrifana and Amado when the Atlantic is working. Private groups can handle the longer drive more easily because there are only two of you.
Because the group is tiny, we can also surf a peak away from the crowd rather than staying where the school groups gather.

Questions
Is a private lesson worth the extra money as a beginner?
If you are anxious about the sea, yes. Otherwise a group day teaches most beginners to stand up perfectly well, and a private day pays off more once you are trying to catch unbroken waves.
Can three of us book a private lesson together?
Three people means two instructors, which changes the price. Message us and we will quote it.
Can I use my own board?
Yes. Bring it and we will carry it in the van. The instructor may still suggest something with more volume for part of the day.
Can we book several private days in a row?
Yes, and it is the fastest progression we offer. Tell us your dates and we will price the block.
Do private lessons go to the same beaches as the group?
Usually, but not always. With two surfers we have more freedom to choose a quieter peak or drive further for better conditions.
